Sandy’s Place is a residential addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment program for women in Orange County, California. Our program specializes in the treatment of addiction concurrent with trauma and other co-occurring disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, etc.
Sandy’s Place is small by design and we accommodate only a handful of women at a time in our women’s addiction program because we believe that an intimate environment best supports the recovery process. When women are living and recovering together, under the guidance of highly credentialed and compassionate staff, a sense of community is built and profound healing and recovery can take place.
While in our care, clients at Sandy’s Place live in beautiful residential homes with no more than six women at any given time. During their time at Sandy’s Place, clients are assigned an individual clinical team, which consists of a primary therapist and a drug and alcohol counselor (case manager) with whom they will meet with twice per week. Clients will also see an EMDR therapist and a trauma therapist once per week. Additionally, clients are seen by our board certified (by the American Society of Addiction Medicine) medical doctors and psychiatric providers on a consistent basis while in our care and all clients will receive an initial psychiatric evaluation upon admission (within three to five days of admission date).
Women at Sandy’s Place receive six one-on-one sessions per week including two individual therapy sessions, one EMDR therapy session, one trauma therapy session and two case management sessions. Our caring and experienced team of treatment professionals utilize the best practices in addiction medicine in our women’s residential treatment program. Our dedicated clinicians utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions including EMDR therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Additionally, our staff utilizes a mixture of holistic therapies including mindfulness meditation practice(s), aromatherapy, music therapy and acupuncture.
In addition to the six one-on-one weekly individual sessions clients receive at Sandy’s Place, clients also attend multiple group therapy sessions every week. At Sandy’s Place, women attend programming in a beautiful and comfortable residential home. All of the groups are run by master’s level therapists, certified drug and alcohol counselors and other group facilitators and clinicians who specialize and hold decades of experience in fields such as hypnotherapy, mindfulness meditation, aromatherapy, music and art therapy, trauma therapy, and sex/love therapy.
