We believe in treating our clients with dignity and respect while they are in treatment with us. We understand that it is not always realistic nor possible to completely check out from one’s responsibilities for the duration of their treatment stay. Therefore we allow cell phone and laptop access in our treatment programs and clients may use their electronics outside of programming hours to stay connected with their personal and professional obligations. Rather than allowing work to be a distraction from the treatment process, we see it as an opportunity to help our clients learn how to balance their recovery and their career(s) and / or personal responsibilities under the direction of their clinical team.
To adequately prepare our clients for life after treatment, we teach them how to cope with everyday triggers and stressors including one’s personal and professional obligations and responsibilities. Our team of treatment professionals utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities with our clients including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and mindfulness practices to help our clients develop healthier ways of coping with stress so that when they leave treatment they are able to face their work responsibilities and stressors without feeling the urge or need to use drugs or drink alcohol. We have found that practicing new behaviors and coping mechanisms while in treatment, under clinical supervision and guidance, is extremely helpful to one’s overall success and sustainability in their new behavior and in their recovery.
